Are you making the most of your teaching assistants?

Are you making the most of your teaching assistants?

If not, it is worth considering new licensed training (Maximising the Practice of Subscription) developed as part of a project funded by the Education Endowment Foundation to help schools transform the way they use teaching assistants, with the aim of increasing their positive impact on pupils’ progress and attainment.

What is the impact?
Through MPTA training schools report by making TA deployment a focus of attention has raised their TAs’ profile and lifted their confidence and sense of value.   They have seen more effective classroom   partnerships with changes to  interactions consistent with one of the training aims of moving TAs’ talk from task completion to developing pupils’ independence.

What does it entail?
A reflection of current TA practice followed by bespoke short       sessions for the school culminating in a day and half of training for TAs and teachers. As part of the package , each school receives  comprehensive high-quality resources to support the training.  Please see the attached document for an outline of the programme.
