An introduction to safeguarding children and to gain and understanding of different types of abuse.

Description

By attending this course you will:

  • Be given an overview of the legislation and guidance for safeguarding children
  • Gain an understanding of different types of abuse
  • Learn about signs and symptoms of abuse including Accidental and Non Accidental injuries
  • Know how to respond to suspected abuse
  • Become familiar with which policies, procedures and processes will help you in your role
  • Have opportunity to practice some of what we have learned today through discussions and group activities
  • Understand the importance of working together to safeguard children
